Select the type of Mechanical work being done. For many
common types of work, a fixed fee has been assigned. Fees for all other types of work are based on the
total cost of Materials used. If any additional work is being done for an item with a fixed fee,
then the fee for the work will be the fixed fee plus the Materials Cost-based fee for the rest
of the work. (Note: If you already have a new Residential Building permit, then all Mechanical fees
are already included.)
Mechanical Appliance Replacements: An appliance replacement is defined as disconnecting the utilities (gas and electric),
vent connector, etc. at the appliance; removing the existing appliance, inserting a new appliance and reconnecting
the utilities with minor modifications. The installation of a new venting system, chimney liner, or
an additional appliance should be considered as new work and a permit fee paid for in addition
to the appliances replacement charge.
