The Fee Calculator can be used to calculate permit fees for the Pikes Peak region as collected by the Regional Building Department. Additional fees may apply depending on your city/county/area. At any time you can switch to a new city/county, or switch to a different department. Contractors may do both Residential and Commercial work. Homeowners may only do work on their own residence. Fee Calculator currently calculates fees individually. If multiple scopes of work are combined in a single permit, then the total fee for the permit will differ if any of the individual fees are based on Valuation. This is intended as a guide. Fees are subject to change at time of permitting.

Residential Mechanical fees
for Colorado Springs

Select the type of Mechanical work being done. For many common types of work, a fixed fee has been assigned. Fees for all other types of work are based on the total cost of Materials used. If any additional work is being done for an item with a fixed fee, then the fee for the work will be the fixed fee plus the Materials Cost-based fee for the rest of the work. (Note: If you already have a new Residential Building permit, then all Mechanical fees are already included.)

Mechanical Appliance Replacements: An appliance replacement is defined as disconnecting the utilities (gas and electric), vent connector, etc. at the appliance; removing the existing appliance, inserting a new appliance and reconnecting the utilities with minor modifications. The installation of a new venting system, chimney liner, or an additional appliance should be considered as new work and a permit fee paid for in addition to the appliances replacement charge.
